With the experience of Rainer and his team to organize virtual race, we managed to organize different types of races - running, cycling and pets walk at different courses along the new Tseung Kwan O cross bay bridge. The TrailMe app was able to live track the accumulative performance of every racers in a 9-day event. Being a shopping mall operator operator, we aim at bringing traffic and business to our tenants not just for one day. TrailMe helped us to unlock the sports lovers and pets community to O’South through an open fair and transparent racing platform.

As a trail event organizer, the safety and well-being of our participants is always our utmost concern especially the Oxfam Trailwalker (OTW) route crosses some remote locations where there are no network coverage and having no vehicular access. The unique timing technology of TRAILME not only allows us to have a full picture of our participating teams all the time but also enable their family and friends to do so, fully exhibiting the spirit of OTW - VIRTUALLY TOGETHER (VT).

As a road runner running in trails, I did not hope that my enthusiasm for this type of sport could match my wish to race in a triathlon. Yet under years of pandemic, every type of sports that can exhaust my body and soothe my mind on daily task do help. Thus trail running, being the least barred exercise, has become something that I would do sometimes. Tho running with lots of fears running up and down the hills, I'd still promise to enjoy from the start to finish. And finally I could experience the new trend of trail racing through TRAILME! It was a great app to runners themselves, and most importantly to people in the community who support and cheer!

I first get known to TRAILME as a racer of a virtual race in 2021. I had a very good user experience and was impressed by the technology behind. TRAILME allows accurate tracking of runners simply with a mobile phone, which everyone will carry along. When it comes to organize our trail running event, my team chose to work with TRAILME as timing partner.
As a runner, the live tracking function allows my supporters to estimate the arrival time at certain locations, which is commonly needed for virtual race. As an organizer, TRAILME is a suitable timing platform for both physical and virtual race. The organizer interface provided by TRAILME helps to monitor the runners’ flow and distribution, which play an important role in safety aspect. Victoria 162 is glad to have partnered with TRAILME and showcased a smooth virtual challenge. Prior to 2022, runners out there running our virtuals were manually tracked and moved using google map pins around the clock, which was extremely taxing for a 100-mile race held for a 1-month period. TRAILME tackled that exact issue, allowing the organizing committee to track runners automatically and go to bed everyday with some peace of mind. Given the preparation period was only 2 weeks prior to challenge start day, it was a monumental task to set up the back end – with our distinct course of 162km covering as far as Tai O in Lantau to Quarry Bay on the island, and 5 sub-distances … but TRAILME prevailed and delivered. What was most treasurable was the collaboration – as an organizer we were trusted and trained by TRAILME to deploy and collect trackers out on the course, giving us strong sense of ownership to the process and in turn sped up the race set up. Backend a breeze to use with useful stats, with the accompanying registration portal also easy to set up. Most importantly, questions from us or runners were dealt with swiftly. TRAILME would be our go-to choice for virtual race in future.
