This route is quite demanding, with a total elevation gain of 1609 metres. The first half is quite easy to run. Runners start at Tai Tam Barbecue Area Site No. 2 and then continue to Quarry Gap and Sir Cecil’s Ride, soon climbing Siu Ma Shan and Jardine’s Lookout to enjoy the views of the Central metropolis and Victoria Harbour.
The second half of the route is where things get tough. The beautiful view of Tai Tam Reservoir may relieve the harshness of the route somewhat. However, the infamous, constant steps of the Twins and Violet Hill will challenge the thighs of all participants. The key to victory is to keep your energy up for the hills.
