Overview
Taking place on 4th-6th November 2022, the event will offer four races on Lantau Island including 25km, 50km, 100km, and the new ultra distance 140km, giving runners the chance to experience the wildest island of Hong Kong territories.
TransLantau™ by UTMB® gives runners of all abilities the chance to escape the city and connect with nature on Hong Kong’s wildest island.
The demanding course is on trails for 80% of the race, covering two country parks. Participants get to connect with nature as they push their limits and immerse themselves in a landscape of undulating hills and long coastline, untouched by the urbanization of Hong Kong. The course takes runners on an authentic journey, past iconic locations including Tai O fishing village, Big Buddha, and Po Lin monastery.
Courses
TransLantau25 by UTMB® will cover the scenic coastal trails in Chi Ma Wan country park for a cumulative elevation gain of 900 meters. This is a trail run which requires adequate training to complete the full route within 6.5 hours.

TransLantau50 by UTMB® covers 51km on the most scenic trails of South Lantau Island, including 5 climbs for a cumulative elevation gain of 2,300 meters. This is a challenging trail run which requires adequate training to complete the full route within 12 hours.
The route will be marked with reflective orange ribbons and signs at intersections. There will be 4 checkpoints (see locations on map) with drinking water, electrolytes, cold and hot food (only water at the CP1).

TransLantau140 by UTMB® covers 140km on the most scenic trails of the two country parks on Lantau Island, for a cumulative elevation gain of 7,000 meters. This is a challenging trail run which requires adequate training to complete the full route within 40 hours. The route includes steep climbs and downhills, the highest climb being the Lantau peak (934m).
This race is semi-self sufficiency (12 refreshment posts are located along the route). To enroll for the TransLantau140 by UTMB®, you must be a finisher of a 100km trail race OR a 50-km trail race in <12h within the last 3 years.

This is a challenging trail run which requires adequate training to complete the full route within 30 hours. The route includes steep climbs and downhills, the highest climb being the Lantau peak (934m).
This race is semi-self sufficiency (9 refreshment posts are located along the route) marked with reflective orange ribbons and signs at intersections. To enroll for the TransLantau100 by UTMB®, you must be a finisher of a 100km trail race OR a 50-km trail race in <12h within the last 3 years.
